Leg day, dread day

On Monday morning, I hit the gym before work for the first time ever and busted out a gruelling 45 minute leg workout that would mean I was burning extra calories all day long.

Now, before I go any further, I should get it out there that I walk ALOT. I’m also training for a 10k run in June. I walk to and from work every day (10k round trip) and my legs are in pretty decent physical shape. Aesthetically they need a bit of help, but overall, my legs work like they’re meant to.

Except since Monday, my legs barely work at all. Setting off for work is torture, although by the time I’m halfway there the DOMS have subsided as my muscles warm up. Then I sit down behind a desk for hours, only remembering the crippling agony I’m suffering when I (attempt to) jovially hop up to go to the loo or fetch some printing. Bambi on ice, mixed with a pins and needles suffering elephant is the only way I can describe the utter mayhem that ensues. Bending of any kind is out of the question, and I’m already dreading next week’s leg session..
