Turns out trying to sweat out my illness on Tuesday came back to bite me in the arse.
I’ve spent the last two days off work and on my deathbed, surrounded by piles of snotty tissues, empty water bottles and cookery programmes on BBC iPlayer.
Determined not to mess up my thus-far winning streak, I managed to drag myself out of bed yesterday to do a ‘bare minimum workout’ of 50 weighted squats, 50 pressups and 50 situps. My nose ran faster than I did during my 10km, but afterwards I was glad I’d done it.
Tonight was more of the same, my boyfriend wouldn’t take me to the gym with him for the sake of my health no matter how much I protested, so I re-watched the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show whilst I did:
50 weighted squats
50 sit ups
50 press ups
50 weighted lunges
50 weighted glute bridges
50 dumbbell tricep extensions (I had to google what they were actually called..)
When I say ‘weighted’ – I’m using a kettlebell that weighs 12lbs – not that much, but it’s all we have at home and it’ll do the job for now.
Right, back to bed I go..
